Embarking on A Journey

Hello, Beautiful Souls! Welcome to Rivah View Home! 🌿✨

The sailing distance from Annapolis, Maryland to Ragged Island, a remote island in southern Bahamas, is approximately 1,200 nautical miles. It was that voyage on our sailboat in 2019 that began the journey of what would be a complete shift in our lives. But more on that later….

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Sandra the heart behind this cozy corner of handmade treasures, called Rivah View Home, where we believe that a home is not just a place; it's a sanctuary filled with love, faith, and cherished moments. 💖✨

About Me:
As an introverted soul with a passion for gathering and helping people, I found my way here through a winding path from the corporate world and organizing fundraisers for those in need to venturing into the realm of interior decorating. The Lord led me on this journey to Rivah View Home, where my love for home décor, curating products that align with our shared values, and passion for helping others come together to bring joy.

Meet my Family:

Alongside me are my husband, my pillar of 24 years, our two special spunky, joy-filled kids – a 9-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son, our 16-year-old cockapoo, and 7 frolicking chickens. Our family enjoys adventuring through camping, traveling, hiking, and sailing – all of which shape the essence of Rivah View Home.

Our Journey:

Back on the sailing…. Embarking on sailing adventures is where my family and I discover tranquility. Whether gliding through coastal breezes or chasing the horizon under a starlit sky, the sea is our escape and inspiration — except when we're navigating storms and 15-foot waves, of course! While we've momentarily paused our sailing pursuits, those experiences paved the way for our present journey. You see, we found ourselves on our sailboat stranded in the Bahamas during COVID lockdowns in March 2020, it marked the time when the Lord began opening doors for us to pursue our long-discussed dreams. Not being residents of the Bahamas, we were sent on our way, and with all that was happening in our home state of New Jersey, we knew that was not where we wanted to head. In the next five months, we had our house under contract, and we found ourselves on a travel trailer adventure exploring the beauty of our country. Amidst our exploration, Zillow unexpectedly led us to our dream home in Virginia. As we settled into our new surroundings, seeking fresh work opportunities, the path unfolded. Fast forward to July 2023, and Rivah View Home, an online store, is born—a space where handcrafted creations echo the stories of resilience, hope, and the journey that brought us here.

Our Mission:
So Rivah View Home is more than a store; it's an extension of our family's story. With a heart deeply rooted in faith, family, and integrity, I've carefully curated each piece to not just adorn your spaces but to weave stories of empowerment, restoration, meaningful connections, and care for this beautiful world the Lord has gifted us. We curate high-quality products sourced from small family businesses and organizations that champion fair trade and purpose. From pottery crafted in safe houses to linens crafted with artisanal traditions and stamped by women fleeing modern-day slavery, every item tells a story.

Your Invitation:
By choosing Rivah View Home, you're not just a customer; you're a part of our extended family. At our side, you are making a conscious choice to support small businesses, uplift women facing vulnerabilities, and contribute to a brighter future. Join us in creating a home that reflects your values, filled with purpose, love, and the essence of handmade beauty.

Come on in, explore, and let's create something beautiful together.
