ABOUT THE ARTISAN Local Hope, a Mercy House Global partner, focuses on supporting women in Houston, TX. who are coming out of a life of oppression and are in a vulnerable situation. They provide a safe place for women to re-enter the workforce and obtain the training and skills needed to meet future goals. Through their ministry partners, quarterly empowerment lunches and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes, we identify women who would benefit from job and skills training. Women in their Artisan Training Program are paid a fair and livable wage for the products they make.
